As part of its ongoing commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises Volvo Cars is proud to announce its partnership with Pink Caravan for the second consecutive year.
On 7th October, Festival Plaza in Jebel Ali will once again become the hub for complimentary screenings through a Medical Mobile Clinic placed at the main entrance of Festival Plaza. The screenings include clinical examinations for women aged 20 and above, and a mammogram screening for women aged 40 and above, at the Pink Caravan x Volvo mobile clinic.
As an emblematic icon for safety around the world, Volvo acknowledges the importance of raising awareness and early detection of breast cancer. The partnership reinforces the brand’s commitment to greater awareness on health and safety, as regular screenings like mammograms and clinical examinations play a fundamental role in the fight against breast cancer.
Last year's collaboration between Volvo Cars and Pink Caravan was met with resounding success, with over 70 women receiving complimentary mammograms and clinical examinations at Festival Plaza, Jebel Ali. Guests were invited to the Volvo Studio for registration and a refreshing beverage before heading to the Pink Caravan stationed at the main entrance of Dubai Festival Plaza. There, they had the opportunity to undergo detailed screenings, empowering them to take control of their health.
Oscar Rivoli, Managing Director at Al-Futtaim's Trading Enterprises, said: “Our partnership with Pink Caravan reflects Volvo's unwavering commitment to not only ensure safety on the road, but also safety of the community and social responsibility. We are proud to stand alongside Pink Caravan for the second consecutive year, and together, we aim to make a tangible difference in the UAE.”
The Pink Caravan is a breast cancer awareness initiative in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is organized by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP), a non-profit organization based in Sharjah, UAE. It launched in 2011 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society (FoCP), International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
Pink Caravan has gained significant recognition and support from various governmental and non-governmental organizations, local and international media, and public. It plays a crucial role in increasing awareness about breast cancer and empowering women to take charge of their health.
Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FoCP, said: “Pink Caravan has grown to become the UAE’s leading breast cancer awareness initiative, and has offered 93,201 free clinical exams and 22,549 mammograms since 2011, due to the uncompromising support it has received from partners in both the public and private sectors. We applaud Volvo’s commitment towards their social responsibility in the UAE. It is the collective impact of these vital collaborations that are enabling the UAE community to become more aware, more empowered, and safer against the risks of breast cancer. I encourage women and men in Dubai and across the nation to benefit from the free screenings and expert medical consultations we will be providing alongside our longstanding partners Volvo in Jebel Ali on October 7.”
